Nervi Conterno

Nervi winery is a historic winery in Gattinara, a municipality in Alto Piemonte located at the foot of the Alps and characterized by predominantly volcanic soil. It is the epicenter of red wine production based on Nebbiolo grapes, the main variety used to create Gattinara DOCG. The region boasts a unique microclimate, with a combination of significant temperature fluctuations, which favors the ripening of the grapes, and the altitude of the vineyards, which helps maintain acidity and freshness in the wines. The richness in iron, magnesium, and potassium due to the volcanic origin of Gattinara's soils contributes to the characteristic minerality of the Nebbiolo grown in this region. In 2018, Nervi wineries were acquired by Roberto Conterno, from the Giacomo Conterno winery in Monforte d'Alba, an excellent producer of Barolo in the Langhe region.
