Barbera d'Alba 2022

The 2022 Barbera d'Alba from La Ca Nova winery is produced from Barbera grapes harvested in the municipality of Barbaresco.

A Barbera with fruit and structure, perfectly balanced in the use of barrels during aging; it is juicy, with the right acidic drive to drink liters of it!

The Winery: La Ca' Nova

La Ca' Nova is a small family-run farm founded in a 19th-century farmhouse in the center of Barbaresco. The Rocca family began labeling wines in the 1970s. The vineyards cover an area of about 14 hectares, including plots in the Barbaresco crus of Montestefano and Montefico (the latter more precisely within the Bric Mentina vineyard). The former is south-facing and produces slightly more powerful and deep wines than those from the southeast-facing vineyards of Montefico, which yield more elegant wines. Vinification proceeds without temperature control during fermentation, after which the racking technique is used, keeping the skins submerged for 15-20 days after alcoholic fermentation for greater extraction. The wines are then aged for at least 18 months in 3000-liter barrels.
