Upper Terraces

A family business established in Valtellina in 2005, Terrazzi Alti is run by Siro Buzzetti, who cultivates Nebbiolo, locally known as Chiavennasca, in his own vineyards, all of which are located in the Sassella subzone. In this scenic panorama of terraced vineyards, altitudes vary between 400 and 600 meters, and the soils are shallow and generally characterized by an acidic pH. Production is quite limited, amounting to about 10,000 bottles annually, divided between two labels: Valtellina Superiore Terrazzi Alti Sassella and Valtellina Superiore Terrazzi Alti Sassella Riserva. Vineyard management follows organic farming principles, and in the cellar, Siro adopts an entirely natural approach to winemaking, using spontaneous fermentations and showing complete respect for the territory.
