Marcel Lapierre is one of the fathers of Beaujolais, and his Morgon is a benchmark for the entire appellation.
Here, in lower Burgundy, tradition is upheld; a tradition made from Gamay, the local grape often vinified with carbonic maceration to please the market for new wines, which Marcel Lapierre and many of his friends vinify with full respect for the territory. Marcel has been vinifying without the use of sulfites since 1981, partly shaped and partly convinced by his friend Jules Chauvet, one of the fathers of French biodynamic agriculture. Jules passed away in 2010, but to this day Marcel, aided by his children Matthieu and Camille, continues the tradition of natural wines.
