Verduno Pelaverga is an indigenous red wine produced in the municipality of Verduno, the northernmost area of Barolo.
The production of this DOC is limited to the municipality of Verduno and some vineyards on the northern side of the municipality of La Morra. Annual production is always quite low, making it increasingly difficult to get hold of a few bottles. Fratelli Alessandria's Verduno Pelaverga is a wine made from Pelaverga Piccolo grapes grown in the municipality of Verduno, which after being vinified in steel produce a very pale ruby red wine, characterized by very intense aromas of cherry, rose, and especially white pepper.
