    The Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso from the Aldrighetti winery is a wine re-fermented on the still warm and sugar-rich Amarone pomace immediately after the Amarone racking.

    This is the classic process for making Valpolicella Ripasso, and I must admit that I am not a fan of this type of wine, which can sometimes be too, forgive the term, heavy. The one produced by Aldrighetti, however, is an exception, because despite its rich and powerful nose, it manages to have a beautiful pleasantness and freshness. The grapes are typical of the area: mostly Corvina Veronese, with a blend of Rondinella and Molinara. After fermentation is complete, Valpolicella Ripasso is aged for about 2 years in oak barrels.

    Alcohol Content: 14%
    Vineyards: located in Valgatara in the heart of Valpolicella at an altitude of 200-300 meters above sea level. Very varied soil, calcareous and rich in skeleton
    Vinification: in steel barrels for about 10-12 days with controlled temperature and re-fermented on the still warm Amarone pomace. Aged for 24 months in oak barrels
