Podere Concori's Pinot Noir is produced in Gallicano, a municipality in Garfagnana, in the province of Lucca.
Gallicano is a small town in Garfagnana, a splendid area where I had the fortune to work for a summer. We are located between the Apuan Alps and the Apennines, in a typical pre-Alpine valley that is actually just a few kilometers from the sea. Gabriele de Prato, one of the prominent figures in the Tuscan wine world, after focusing on a grape variety like Syrah by planting it in this slice of Tuscan paradise, decided to take on Pinot Noir. This wine, one of its very first vintages, opens on the nose with hints of wild berries and sour cherry, and on the palate, it immediately proves to be agile, savory, and fresh.
