Castello di Verduno's "S-ciopet" Zero Dosage Rosé Metodo Classico Spumante is a sparkling wine made from Pelaverga Piccolo, an indigenous grape variety of the Langhe.
Castello di Verduno is one of the very few (or perhaps the only one? I admit I don't know) wineries that produces sparkling Pelaverga. Of course, it cannot be stated on the label, but I'm telling you! Metodo Classico with secondary fermentation in the bottle for 30 months on the lees, fine and persistent bubbles, pronounced acidity, and the distinct spiciness of Pelaverga make this sparkling wine a perfect companion for an aperitif by the pool.

Castello di Verduno is a winery located in the castle of the eponymous municipality in the Barolo region; it is one of the most historic producers in the Langhe area, as the Bianco family, who had long cultivated vines, decided to start vinifying grapes in the mid-1800s. Over time, production has focused on Nebbiolo and Nebbiolo-based DOCGs: Barolo and Barbaresco. Special mention goes to the indigenous grape variety of Verduno, Pelaverga.
