Bressan's Schioppettino is a red wine from Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Schioppettino is one of the native grape varieties of Venezia Giulia, and Fulvio Bressan's is one of the best interpretations: the grapes are selected and harvested from approximately 40-year-old vines after a slight over-ripening to mitigate the very high acidity typical of the grape variety. After being brought to the cellar, a natural-style vinification process begins, with spontaneous fermentation in contact with the skins for 30 days, and aging in oak barrels for 4-5 years. Schioppettino is a wine with acidity and aromatic complexity characterized by notes of blueberry, blackberry, and black pepper.
