Langhe Nebbiolo "Spetacol" 2019

Renato Fenocchio's Langhe Nebbiolo Spetacol originates from the Starderi and Rombone vineyards.

To be honest, this Nebbiolo is very dear to me, and every year it consistently ranks among my top five tastings. The grapes are harvested from the Starderi cru, the extreme north-west of the municipality of Neive, while a portion comes from Treiso. To be clear, we are talking about vineyards of great importance, but the generally cooler exposures are chosen for the Langhe Nebbiolo, depending on the climatic trend of the vintage. Spetacol has an earthy soul, exuding aromas accompanied by fresh, floral notes.

The Winery: Renato Fenocchio

Renato and Milva Fenocchio live in Neive, where they have managed the family business since 1993. Their total vineyard area is about 11 hectares, all cultivated organically in the municipalities of Neive, Barbaresco, and Treiso. Renato is first and foremost a farmer, and he considers a sustainable approach to vineyard work to be extremely important. Recently, new cultivation techniques and methods for preventing fungal diseases and vine pests have been frequently implemented. The winemaking processes are always aimed at maximizing the expression of the grape variety: the grapes are stressed as little as possible, and enological techniques are never invasive. Renato and Milva are true wine artisans, driven by an incredible passion for the land and its fruits.
