Tommaso Cappa produces this 2022 Dogliani in the Valdibà subzone, in Dogliani.
For me, Tommaso was first a client, then a friend, and finally a supplier. It warms my heart to see young people who strongly believe in the potential of Dogliani, both as a wine and as a village. And I'm even happier when these people are like Tommaso: prepared, resourceful, and beautiful on the inside. Tommaso's Dogliani, with the 2022 vintage, is now in its third year of production.
Tommaso Cappa's Dogliani is produced from a 40-year-old vineyard in the hamlet of Valdibà, just below Nicoletta Bocca's San Fereolo chapel. Not having his own winery, Tommaso vinified in a third-party cellar: spontaneous fermentation in steel for 17 days. Aging for 1 year in a small exhausted barrel. Total production: 1700 bottles.

The Winery: Tommaso Cappa
Young, very young. After graduating in oenology, Tommaso Cappa began his experience in a famous winery in Alba where he mainly dealt with agronomic management. With his parents, he bought a small farmhouse in the hamlet of Valdibà in Dogliani and began cultivating the adjacent vineyard. All work in the vineyard is done by hand and with the utmost respect for the land: he uses neither chemical herbicides nor systemic fertilizers.
