Nicholas Altare's Dogliani is produced in Dogliani from grapes sourced from the San Luigi sub-zone.

We are in the beating heart of Dogliani DOCG, on the road of the beautiful San Luigi hill, which connects Dogliani to Monforte d'Alba. The vineyards are all next to the house, and they are the historic ones that Nicholas's family has always cultivated for decades. Lately, Nicholas's name is appearing more and more in the notes of industry enthusiasts, those Dolcetto lovers who have rediscovered the everyday appeal in this wine that was lost from the 1990s onwards. Natural vinification in steel and cement makes this wine a must-have for all those seeking crisp fruit. NOT SUITABLE FOR THOSE WHO ONLY WANT ONE GLASS, THANK YOU.

    The Winery: Nicholas Altare

We are in the beating heart of Dogliani, on the road of the beautiful San Luigi hill. Nicholas's winery is young, dynamic, and family-run. Nicholas is a thirty-year-old who, since childhood, helped his father and grandfather cultivate the family vineyard, whose grapes were sold directly. Today, his grandfather and father help Nicholas with the work of the winery, which was founded during his collaboration with a great Langa winemaker: Ferdinando Principiano. From his experience and friendship with Ferdinando, Nicholas learned much of what he practices today, starting with clean viticulture, characterized by manual work and zero chemicals. Nicholas today produces only red wines, the three cornerstones of Piedmontese viticulture: Dolcetto, Barbera, and Nebbiolo.
