Barolo "Ravera di Monforte" 2018

Barolo Le Coste di Monforte comes from the eponymous cru in Monforte d'Alba.

The Piero Benevelli winery is located in Monforte d'Alba, on the road leading to Roddino and Serralunga d'Alba. Massimo and Denise, husband and wife, are warm-hearted people deeply connected to their land and all its historical traditions. Their wines are traditional, with an eye towards natural winemaking, without the use of selected yeasts and without filtration. In the cellar, only the necessary actions are taken to protect the quality of the wine, which has been increasingly talked about in recent years. Massimo's wines are sincere, highlighting their terroir of origin.

The Barolo Ravera di Monforte 2018 is the historical label of the Benevelli family. The grapes are harvested from two different vineyards with an average age of 35 years. The soil composition is marly with a superficial calcareous part. As with the other Barolo wines, Mosconi and Le Coste, fermentation takes place with a submerged cap in steel tanks without selected yeasts, with a total maceration that can vary from 30 to 40 days depending on the vintage. Aging occurs in large oak barrels for about 24 months. Barolo Ravera di Monforte has proven over the years to be the most complete, the one that "comes out strongest in the long run," so to speak.
