Barolo "Perno" 2020

Ca' di Press's Barolo Perno 2020 is born on the Perno hill, in Monforte d'Alba.

The story of Ca' di Press is very particular: while on the one hand we could consider this a historic winery, having been founded in the early 1900s, on the other hand we can consider it one of the most beautiful new discoveries of 2022. It is in this year that Alice and Cristina, helped by their parents, released their first bottled vintage. In the past, the wine was sold in bulk in demijohns, and many of the grapes that are now harvested and pressed were once supplied to local wineries. The Barolo del Comune di Monforte is produced entirely in the Perno subzone, where the grapes are left to ferment in steel without the use of selected yeasts. After racking, the aging phase in barrels begins, taking place in large Slavonian oak barrels for about 20 months. Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful discoveries of the last year.

The Winery: Ca' di Press

A winery formally established in the early 1900s, winemakers and producers for over a century. Over the years, the Pressenda family focused mainly on selling bulk wine and supplying grapes to important local wineries. In 2018, Alice and Cristina, in their twenties, decided to make the land of Perno and wine their profession. In 2022, the first two labels were released: Barolo del Comune di Monforte and Langhe Nebbiolo.
