The Winery: Crissante Alessandria
The history of the Crissante Alessandria winery began in 1958 in the hamlet of Roggeri, a small village in the Santa Maria area of La Morra. Here, Crissante began to vinify the family's vineyards with the help of his wife Teresa. Over the years, new small plots have been acquired in the Capalot and Galina sub-zones, and today the winery boasts about 6 hectares of vineyards; in 2007, they decided to start separate vinification of the different MGAs, and today four different Barolos are produced: Barolo from the municipality of La Morra, Barolo Galina, Barolo Capalot, and finally a reserve with grapes also harvested in the municipality of La Morra. I personally met Alberto, born in 1985, the driving force behind the company, who, with precise ideas, seeks elegant wines that are great expressions of the fruit.
