The Winery: Crissante Alessandria
The history of the Crissante Alessandria winery began in 1958 in the Roggeri hamlet, a small village in the Santa Maria area of La Morra. Here, Crissante began to vinify the family's vineyards, assisted by his wife Teresa. Over the years, new small plots were acquired in the Capalot and Galina subzones, and today the winery boasts about 6 hectares of vineyards; in 2007, they decided to start separate vinification of the different MGAs, and to date, four different Barolos are produced: Barolo from the municipality of La Morra, Barolo Galina, Barolo Capalot, and finally a reserve with grapes also harvested in the municipality of La Morra. I personally got to know Alberto, born in 1985, who is the driving force of the company. With clear ideas, he seeks to produce wines of elegance and great fruit expression.
