Barolo "del Comune di Serralunga" 2019

Ferdinando Principiano's Barolo "del Comune di Serralunga" is the result of blending grapes from vineyards planted exclusively in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba.

When we talk about a Barolo that is ready to drink, we cannot fail to mention this Serralunga expression by Ferdinando, which makes this wine his classic Barolo, primarily focused on an appealing, simple, and compulsive drinkability. The grapes all come from the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba, 85% from the younger part of Boscareto, while 15% from the Lirano hill. Vinification proceeds completely naturally, with spontaneous fermentation in steel and 24 months of aging in large Slavonian oak barrels.

The Ferdinando Principiano winery is located in Monforte d'Alba. The company's approach to production philosophy is entirely natural, with spontaneous fermentations always taking place in steel. Ferdinando makes craftsmanship his strength, as well as manual labor, terroir, and sincerity in personal relationships, which is reflected in his wines. The vineyards that give rise to the Nebbiolo-based wines are divided between the municipalities of Monforte d'Alba and Serralunga d'Alba: all beautiful exposures, soils ranging from clay to limestone, where the sandy percentage often plays a fundamental role.
