Barolo "from the Municipality of Monforte d'Alba" 2020

Cascina Fontana's Barolo del Comune di Monforte d'Alba is produced from grapes harvested in vineyards located in the highest and coolest part of the municipality of Monforte d'Alba.

This Barolo comes from selected Nebbiolo parcels located in the upper part of Monforte. This 2020 Barolo is produced in just over 1000 bottles, and this is its second production vintage.

The Winery: Cascina Fontana

Cascina Fontana is a historic family-run winery located on the Perno hill, in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba. It all began six generations ago, and later it was grandfather Saverio who, even before the 1950s, understood the potential of this territory and of Barolo. Today, Mario Fontana continues the tradition, cultivating the typical Langhe grape varieties: Dolcetto, Barbera, and Nebbiolo. He produces classic wines that are the pure expression of the land from which they come, the Langhe.
