Barolo Castellero 2020 from the Giacomo Fenocchio winery is produced in Monforte d'Alba from grapes harvested in the municipality of Barolo.
The MGA Castellero is located in the municipality of Barolo and, in a certain sense, can be compared to the nearby Bussia, as it is effectively the initial part of the ridge that rises towards Monforte d'Alba. The Tortonian soils rich in marl with tuff and a prominent presence of sand make Claudio Fenocchio's Barolo Castellero a wine of great importance and tannic finesse, with notes that recall aromatic herbs, mint, and liquorice.

The Winery: Giacomo Fenocchio
The Fenocchio family has been present for generations in Monforte d’Alba, in the famous Bussia subzone; one could even say that, along with a few others, the Fenocchios are Bussia. Giacomo began bottling in the 1960s. His son Claudio, the current owner, a serious, simple, and affable man, took over, capable of giving a great boost to the quality of the wines, achieving international success with productions in the spirit of the best tradition. The work in the vineyard is sustainable, and in the cellar, Nebbiolo ages in large barrels after prolonged maceration.
