The Winery: Crissante Alessandria
The history of the Crissante Alessandria winery began in 1958 in Roggeri, a small hamlet in the Santa Maria area of La Morra. Here, Crissante began to vinify the family's vineyards with the help of his wife Teresa. Over the years, new small plots were acquired in the Capalot and Galina subzones, and today the winery can count on approximately 6 hectares of vineyards; in 2007, they chose to begin separate vinification of the different MGAs, and to date, four different Barolos are produced: Barolo from the municipality of La Morra, Barolo Galina, Barolo Capalot, and finally a Riserva with grapes always harvested in the municipality of La Morra. Personally, I mainly got to know Alberto, born in 1985, the driving force behind the company, who, with precise ideas, seeks elegant wines with great fruit expression.
