Barbera d'Alba "Vigna Martina" 2022

Elio Grasso's Barbera d'Alba "Vigna Martina" is produced in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba.

This Barbera was first produced in 1988, and comes from vineyards facing south and southwest at an altitude of about 380 meters. The Guyot-trained vines have an average age of 35 years. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by 12 months of aging in French oak barriques. The wine stands out for its fruity bouquet with earthy and spicy notes.

The Winery: Elio Grasso

The Elio Grasso winery is located in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, in the Piedmont region of Italy. The winery was founded in 1958 by Elio Grasso, who began producing wine from grapes from his own vineyards located in the Barolo area.
Elio Grasso passed on his passion for viticulture and wine production to his children, Gianluca and Federica, who now manage the winery with him. The Grasso family cultivates about 18 hectares of vineyards, which are located at an altitude of 300-400 meters above sea level. The soils are mainly composed of clay and limestone, and the vines are cultivated according to organic methods.
The Elio Grasso winery is known for producing high-quality Barolo, with an annual production of about 60,000 bottles. The winery also produces other wines, including Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba, and Langhe Nebbiolo.
Elio Grasso's philosophy is to produce wines that reflect the territory and the environment in which the vines grow. The winery uses only grapes from its own vineyards, and production is limited to ensure the utmost attention to detail and quality.
