Barbera d'Alba Superiore "Donna Elena" 2022

Cascina delle Rose's Barbera d'Alba Superiore "Donna Elena," I admit, is one of my favorites.

However, don't let my tastes influence you; they might not be similar to yours (although I challenge anyone to say that this Barbera isn't one of the best you can drink in Langa). We are in the locality of Tre Stelle, in the municipality of Barbaresco. The vineyard is located right in this valley near the winery, on very lean soils rich in mineral salts. During harvest, the grapes are carefully selected and once brought to the cellar, they ferment in steel. The aging is long, about 20 months, in large Slavonian oak barrels. Structure and acidity are perfectly balanced, the persistence is infinite. This Barbera is fruit, spice, it vibrates in the mouth. Well done Davide and Riccardo!
