Barbera d'Alba Superiore 2021

Barbera d'Alba Superiore from Podere Gagliassi is a red wine produced in Monforte d'Alba.

The winery produces two different Barbera wines from the same vineyard in the Sant'Anna locality of Monforte d'Alba, although the selection of grapes within the same plot is primarily made by seeking an easier style, as in the case of Barbera d'Alba, or a more full-bodied and structured style, as in the case of this Barbera Superiore. The grapes are harvested from the highest altitude portion of the vineyard, so that better exposure and less water can help give the wine structure and power, always enhancing the fruit's expression.

The Winery: Podere Gagliassi

A recent winery, formally established only a few years ago, located in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba in the Sant'Anna area. We are in those vineyards facing east, overlooking the eastern ridge of Monforte and the valley that then rises towards Serralunga. The winery focuses on the production of red wines, from Nebbiolo da Barolo to Barbera, which is vinified with two different labels, and Nebbiolo, with the exception of a Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vineyard used for the production of Alta Langa DOCG.
