The Winery: Crissante Alessandria
The history of the Crissante Alessandria winery begins in 1958 in the hamlet of Roggeri, a small village in the Santa Maria area of the municipality of La Morra. Here, Crissante began vinifying the family's vineyards with the help of his wife Teresa. Over the years, new small plots of land were acquired in the Capalot and Galina sub-zones, and today the winery boasts about 6 hectares of vineyards; in 2007, they decided to start separate vinification of the different MGAs, and to date, four different Barolos are produced: Barolo del comune di La Morra, Barolo Galina, Barolo Capalot, and finally a reserve with grapes harvested always in the municipality of La Morra. Personally, I mainly got to know Alberto, born in 1985, the driving force of the company, who with precise ideas seeks wines of elegance and great fruit expression.
