Barbera d'Alba 2023

Lalù winery's Barbera d'Alba 2023 is produced in Serralunga d'Alba with grapes harvested in the San Sebastiano area of Monforte d'Alba.

We have already talked about Lara and Luisa's new Nebbiolo 2023, and many have had the pleasure of trying it in previous vintages or tasting the Dolcetto. Here is the Barbera! Crisp, fruity, fresh; a blend of elegance and vinous character, an agile and satisfying drink. The vineyards are located in Località San Sebastiano, a subzone of the municipality of Monforte d'Alba. Fermentation takes place in cement, 1/3 whole cluster, 1/3 whole berry, while 1/3 is destemmed and crushed. Aging is split between cement and used barrique for about 9 months.

The Winery: Lalù

Lara and Luisa are two very young producers from Langhe, born in 1991 and 1990 respectively. During their degree in Gastronomic Sciences at the University of Pollenzo, they began to approach the world of wine, visiting many Langhe producers and coming into contact with what completely fascinated them: working in the vineyard, the true relationship with the land, and all the care and attention necessary for the production of quality wine. After graduating, they moved to France, mostly to Burgundy, where they worked alongside some of the most iconic producers in the French wine scene during harvest and in the cellar, such as Cécile Tremblay, to name one. Thus, the dream of their own project was born, from their friendship in school to life and work partners. Today, Lara and Luisa vinify the three main red grape varieties of Langhe: Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Dolcetto. The winery is located in Serralunga, while the vineyards are split between La Morra and Monforte d'Alba.
