Renato Fenocchio's Barbaresco Starderi is born in Neive, in one of the most prestigious MGAs in the municipality.
This is perhaps one of the historic labels produced by Renato and Milva. As already mentioned, we are in Starderi, one of the best subzones in the Barbaresco DOCG area, at the far north-west of the municipality of Neive. Here the hill is steep, and the south-west exposure of the vineyard allows the grapes to ripen beautifully even in the most difficult vintages. Unlike the Basarin, the aging takes place in 50-hectolitre barrels and is therefore suitable for those seeking a more traditional winemaking style, with a well-marked fruit in the foreground that is very enjoyable even when young.

The Winery: Renato Fenocchio
Renato and Milva Fenocchio live in Neive, where they have run the family business since 1993. The total vineyard area is about 11 hectares, all managed organically in the municipalities of Neive, Barbaresco, and Treiso. Renato is first and foremost a farmer, and he considers a sustainable approach to vineyard work to be very important, where new cultivation techniques and prevention against vine fungi or pests are increasingly used. The work in the cellar is always aimed at the maximum expression of the grape variety: the grapes are stressed as little as possible, and enological techniques are never invasive. Renato and Milva are true wine artisans, driven by an incredible passion for the land and its fruits.
