Barbaresco "Roncagliette" 2021

Olek Bondonio's Barbaresco Roncagliette is a fresh interpretation of this magnificent vineyard.

Olek personally oversees all stages of production at his winery, from harvesting, which is carried out with particular attention and grape selection, to winemaking at his Cascina La Berchialla. Fermentations are always spontaneous, and throughout the winemaking process, a minimally invasive approach is sought.

Barbaresco Roncagliette comes from the eponymous sub-zone, which those who are knowledgeable know to be one of the most historic and important in the entire Barbaresco municipality. Just a little further on is the vineyard of a prominent neighbor like Angelo Gaja, who produces Sorì Tildin precisely in Roncagliette. Olek's vineyard is located right below his Cascina Berchialla, an area relatively cooler than its neighbors, which allows him to create more feminine, fruity wines, always with beautifully integrated tannins.
