Barbaresco "Marcorino" 2021

Cascina delle Rose’s Barbaresco “Marcorino” is produced in Barbaresco from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Marcorino cru.

The Marcorino vineyard is located on calcareous-clay hills at an altitude of about 250–300 meters above sea level, with south-east facing slopes that guarantee excellent ventilation and sun exposure throughout the day. The soils, rich in marl and fossils, offer natural drainage and give the Nebbiolo a balanced structure and a distinct minerality. Here, the temperature variations between day and night help preserve typical aromas and vivacity, while the proximity of the Tanaro river moderates and evens out the microclimate. Vinification takes place in steel, with long but delicate macerations to extract elegance and finesse from the grapes, followed by an aging of about 20 months in large oak barrels.

Cascina delle Rose is a family-run business located in Barbaresco, where viticulture is practiced with respect for the environment and local traditions. The rows, arranged on sunny slopes, are managed with sustainable interventions and contained yields. In the cellar, the philosophy includes spontaneous fermentations and a minimal approach in terms of sulfur dioxide, to allow the Nebbiolo to express its character. The goal is to create sincere and authentic Barbarescos that tell the deep connection with their territory of origin.
