L by Ugo Lestelle is a red wine made from Grenache grapes grown in Languedoc-Roussillon.

As is his custom, Ugo vinifies Grenache grapes in whole bunches, as his intention is always to seek freshness and fruit on the nose. This Grenache has a lively and vibrant sip, and the nose explodes with small red berries and spices.

    The Winery: Ugo Lestelle

Ugo Lestelle is a young producer who already boasts a solid reputation in the international wine world. After visiting various vineyards in different areas of southern France, he decided to settle permanently in Saint-Chinian (to the north), restoring an old sheepfold at 550 meters above sea level. He was captivated by the clay-limestone soils with a very high percentage of silicon. In 2015, his adventure began with only two hectares of property; today he owns 7 hectares, but the style (carbonic maceration) and philosophy have remained unchanged: natural wine at all costs. His vines are organically cultivated, while in the cellar nothing is used except a small percentage of sulfites at bottling. He works with indigenous grape varieties from the area such as Grenache, Carignan, Aramon, Syrah, and Terret, vinifying them with whole-bunch carbonic maceration and aging in small barrels, the type of wood changing for each of his wines.
