Scala's Cirò Rosso Classico Superiore is a red wine produced in Calabria from Gaglioppo grapes.
We have already covered an excellent vertical tasting of Sergio Arcuri's wines and have therefore already become familiar with the rapidly growing territory of the Cirò denomination in Calabria. The native grape is Gaglioppo, and the vineyards stretch across the hills of Cirò Marina at an altitude of about 200 meters. The aromas are primarily fruity, but with closer attention, hints of balsamic and Mediterranean scrub can be identified.
