The Langhe Rossese Bianco "Rosserto" 2023 is produced by the Giovanni Manzone winery on the Castelletto hill, in Monforte d'Alba.

Rossese Bianco is an indigenous grape variety from the Ligurian Riviera di Levante, in the Cinque Terre area (although the people of Imperia claim its origin, as with Rossese Rosso, and then I tell you: "look it up on Google" - but alas, spoiler, they are wrong). After being "imported" to the Langhe in a certain sense, it has only found a foothold in the Monforte area, where a few producers - about five wineries in total - have dared to cultivate it. Mauro and Giovanni Manzone's version is a white wine that expresses itself with hints of flowers and yellow fruit; an olfactory sweetness emerges which is then also found on the palate, perhaps also thanks to a vinification that takes place in tonneau from the final part of alcoholic fermentation.

The Giovanni Manzone winery was founded in 1925 in Castelletto, Monforte d'Alba. Over the years it has always cultivated red grape varieties typical of the Langhe, such as Dolcetto, Barbera, and Nebbiolo, obviously focusing on Barolo. In parallel, it has overseen the recovery and development of an almost forgotten white grape variety, which is now produced under the Langhe Rossese Bianco label. Today, Mauro and his father, Giovanni Manzone, lead the winery, personally managing all aspects of cultivating the vineyards, which are all located around the winery in the subzones of Castelletto and Gramolere, and the vinification process. Historically, the winery has a sustainable approach to viticulture.
