Colombera & Garella

The winery's story began in 1992 in Masserano with the purchase of Cascina Cottignano, an old ruin to be restored surrounded by vineyards. In those years, Carlo Colombera left his job in the rice fields and, thanks to a position at Azienda Agricola Antoniolo in Gattinara, became passionate about viticulture. Over time, investments were made, effectively increasing the company's owned vineyard area. Today, the winery's frontman is Giacomo Colombera, born in 1992, who, during his Oenology university year in Alba, met Cristiano Garella, an oenologist, with whom he decided to formally establish the Colombera & Garella company in 2010. Currently, the winery boasts approximately 10 hectares of vineyards, spread across the municipalities of Lessona, Masserano, and Roasio. The cultivated varieties are the historical ones of Alto Piemonte, with Nebbiolo in the forefront, flanked by Vespolina and Croatina, thus giving life to the production of two of Alto Piemonte's most important DOCs: Lessona and Bramaterra.
