Cascina Corte, an organic farm from Dogliani, produces this Barbera 2018 vinified entirely in terracotta amphora. The grapes are harvested in steep vineyards in the hamlet of San Luigi di Dogliani, where the vines are grown organically, and subsequently ferment and refine in amphora. This winemaking technique creates a unique product of its kind, which blends the acidity of the Barbera with spicy and fruity complexities. Excellent with cheese and salami appetizers!

Barbera d'Alba 2018 of Piero Benevelli is called Bricco del Pilone, a small sub-area of the Ravera di Monforte. A female Barbera, slightly rounded by the wood that absolutely does not cover the freshness of the fruit. Balanced and harmonious, it expresses hints of rose and spices.

Historically Giuseppe Cortese produced a Barbera Morassina which aged 100% in barriques. In this 2016 vintage, on the other hand, 50% of large woods are used, which certainly have influenced making this wine more direct, vertical, less "blunt". I like!

Barbera d'Alba 2017 of Cascina Fontana ferments in steel and refines in concrete and French oak barriques. It is a juicy Barbera because it has good acidity, however well balanced by the body and alcohol.

Wine ideas are very clear: cleanliness, ease of drinking, stratospheric elegance, a traditional style of production, and absolutely quality in the raw material.⁣ ⁣

The fermentations all take place without the use of added yeasts and the wines are neither filtered nor clarified. ⁣

• Barbera ferments in steel and ages for 12 months in used barrels of different sizes⁣ ⁣

• Nebbiolo ferments in steel, ages for 7 months in a 26hl oak and then 2 months in cement before bottling⁣ ⁣

• The Barbaresco Mondino ferments in steel and ages 24 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. ⁣

The total production of the winery is around 40 thousand bottles
