Composed of 70% Vermentino and the remaining Trebbiano, Malvasia di Candia, and Albarola, it is vinified only in steel; I like to think that in addition to being faithful to its original grape varieties, it fully reflects the views and aromas from the cellar: salt, sea, winds, scents of aromatic herbs, wild flowers—in short, if you've visited Marco's cellar, you know exactly what I'm talking about!

Denomination:

Toscana IGT

Grape varieties:

Vermentino 70% - Trebbiano, Malvasia di Candia, Albarola

Alcohol content:

12.50%

Vineyards:

terraced on sandy soils and sandstone

Vinification:

in steel

Serving Temperature:

12-14°C

The Winery: Marco Verona

Marco Verona cultivates native and non-native varieties of the Apuan Alps in his small winery perched on the terraces overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. The vines are cultivated under a total organic regime, and perhaps even more so, on those "piane," as they are called here in Massa, which overlook the city from above and the Tuscan coast in the background. The view is breathtaking; on the clearest days, you can see Elba Island and Sardinia; Marco recounts that the sea breeze blows almost continuously, and I, Yuri, can only confirm this, having spent 27 years at my grandmother's house in Candia. Marco's wines are hope and memory for me. The connection to tradition is strong, but so is the desire to change, to offer labels with a more contemporary style that are never banal, a desire for unforced freshness and fruit, a desire to finish the bottle in 2 minutes while sitting in front of a good fish dish or bread and salami... it's all the same; they are versatile, simple yet stratified and changeable.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0567/3615/3769/files/186F1DAB-2F9B-4487-8FC0-ABEA492921EC2024-06-20_18-24-36_000.jpg?v=1725033570
