The Rocca family began labeling their wines in the 1970s. The vineyards cover an area of about 14 hectares, including parcels in the Barbaresco crus of Montestefano and Montefico (the latter more precisely within the Bric Mentina vineyard). The former is south-facing and produces slightly more powerful and deep wines than those from the southeast-facing vineyards of Montefico, which yield more elegant wines. Winemaking proceeds without temperature control during fermentation, after which the racking technique is used, keeping the skins submerged for 15-20 days after alcoholic fermentation for greater extraction.
