The road gently ascends from Alba towards Treiso and Barbaresco, and overlooking these splendid hills is the winery of Manuel Marinacci, who cultivates his Nebbiolo vineyards around his home for the production of this Barbaresco in the Rocche Massalupo MGA. Manuel does not want stylistic labels; he considers himself a wine artisan and dedicates all his passion and love for wine. Spontaneous fermentations all take place in concrete with indigenous yeasts, while aging proceeds in large barrels for 36 months.

Denomination:

Barbaresco DOCG

Grape varieties:

Nebbiolo 100%

Alcohol Content:

14.5%

Vineyards:

Rocche Massalupo, MGA of Alba with predominantly calcareous soil

Vinification:

spontaneous fermentation in concrete. The cellar, like the vineyards, are all located in San Rocco Seno d'Elvio, a hamlet of Alba. As Manuel himself admits, his growth as a producer has come through mistakes and imperfect wines, while today he has achieved a greater awareness that allows him to practice clean agriculture and be as non-interventionist as possible during winemaking. Today, the winery produces about 18,000 bottles, a Dolcetto d'Alba, a Barbera d'Alba, a Nebbiolo, and a Barbaresco, which only from the 2017 vintage bears the name of the MGA of origin, Rocche Massalupo, on its label.
